    Chair of Logistics Skills Alliance, a body representing employer operators and education around the West London area.

    Professional Background/Experience:
    Life time in same day, express delivery logistics to door, awarded MBE for services to education in transport.

    Learning and skills build our next generation logistics workforce, it makes our future sector robust.

    The latest apprenticeships are levy paid and a great step forward for everyone , the importance is this forms a formal career step for new logisticians.

  • Justin Moore Bsc FIoC

    Current Position and Organisation:
    Co-Founder and CEO of Onit Logistics Group Ltd.

    Professional Background/Experience:
    3 decades of experience in logistics, with a strong focus on leadership roles across various companies. Started as a van driver for DHL Worldwide in 1995! Currently, the Founder and CEO of Onit Logistics Group Ltd. Expertise lies in driving business growth, setting strategic direction, and offering innovative services, particularly in same-day delivery and final mile logistics. Deeply involved in the logistics community, serving as Chair of the Logistics Skills & Careers Hub Board, co-chair  Chair of Independent Owners Group and being a Fellow of the Institute of Couriers. My career is driven by a passion for innovation, mentorship, and transforming the logistics industry.

    Why Learning and Skills are important to you?
    Self-Taught Expertise: My career progression in logistics has been largely self-taught, driven by necessity. Until recently this has been the case for many, I’m keen to see this change.
    Bringing in New Talent: Its crucial to attract and develop new talent to ensure the industry's future, inject fresh perspectives and skills into the sector, preparing the next generation to take the reins and drive innovation.
    Training for Adaptability: We need to equip the new generation with the tools and training to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing industry.

    Current Position and Organisation:
    Partnership Manager,

    Department for Work and Pensions.

    Professional Background/Experience:
    Leadership and Management and working with Stakeholders.

    As a Partnership Manager I have built and developed relationships with partners and stakeholders in the local community to strengthen our offer of support for our claimants. 

    Built relationships with employers to understand their business model, enabling me to influence their workforce plans, selling the benefits of having a plan that is inclusive and supports the development of a diverse workforce.

    Working with partners, employers and Local Authorities to support residents to achieve their potential to access employment.

  • Paul Grice

    Current Position and Organisation:
    Commercial Director
    TVS SCS Integrated Final Mile

    Professional Background/Experience:
    Paul has over 42 years of experience in the logistics and transport sector, with a focus on next-day and ultra-express same-day delivery services. He has held various leadership roles, including Managing Director positions at several national courier companies, where he successfully expanded operations and drove significant growth.  Currently, he serves as the Commercial Director of the Courier Division at TVS SCS, overseeing strategic projects and business transformations.

    I have witnessed huge change in how logistics services are delivered to our customers during my career, reinforcing the importance of life long and continuous learning.
    Adapting to Technology: Continuous learning is essential to keep up with AI and other advanced technologies in logistics.
    Promoting Sustainability: Acquiring new skills helps implement greener, more innovative logistics solutions.

  • Dr Tracey Worth

    Current Position and Organisation:
    Senior lecturer in logistics University of West London. Supervisor Lecturer International Business Supply Chain Sheffield Hallam University

    Professional Background/Experience:
    Military, Royal Logistics Corps to private sector. Companies including Abacus Express, Leeds and Security Despatch London and GXO (formerly Gagewell). Professional posts held include Diversity Chair DfT, Transport Apprenticeships. Chair, National Courier Association, Express sector advisor to TFL.

    Phd thesis on Business models for Express final mile logistics. Various academic papers on client interaction with final mile delivery.

  • Paul McCulloch

    Current Position and Organisation:
    People Partner Wincanton Logistics

    Professional Background/Experience:
    I have worked within the people function for over 20 years based across different sectors such as logistics, manufacturing and within the public sector all within various people roles such as People advisor and Manager.

    In my present role, I am the People Partner within the Wincanton Grocery and Consumer sector. Wincanton Logistics has 20,000 colleagues across over 100 sites and my role has accountability for the people functions across multiple sites and several key customers such as Sainsburys and Waitrose for who we deliver products into stores and directly to customers.

    Daily, I support the People teams and management teams onsite to deliver a safe engaged working environment for our approx. 2000 colleagues in my area. I also support our wellbeing agenda and continue to be an lead of our culture of care philosophy that we are embedding across the business with a focus on mental wellbeing, through delivering programmes such as “start the conversation” and sharing my own stories of its ok to be not ok.

    I also support our other sectors with payroll stabilisation and systems support as well as supporting with projects bring in new business and the development of colleagues.

    Supporting Personal Growth:  The logistics demographics and workforce has changed significantly in the past 10 years, and it is vital now that we attract and retain both new and existing talent within our business and we adapt our offering to ensure we are seen as a great employer and to showcase the many different roles that we have to offer.

    Customer Services / understanding customers:  It is so important that we understand and support our customers with proactive solutions to their problems and that we understand and can adapt to their business and add real value to them both now and future facing.

    People Skills- This may seem obvious but how we lead, engage , support and develop our people is key to the future success of our business and we must continue to focus on supporting our Managers to be empathic ,caring and supportive whilst driving performance and that is not always an easy balance to find. How we treat our people is so important and our leaders must have the tools to be able to deliver this

  • Ed Clarke

    Current Position and Organisation:
    National Operations Director UK
    Skynet Worldwide

    Professional Background/Experience:
    23 years in Logistics, started off looking after 10 white vans operating out of Enfield and rose through the ranks to become the Chair of the UK Board and Stat Director for FedEx and TNT with seven thousand functional reports and board responsibility for nine thousand people in total.

    Development is critical to stay match fit and relevant within your role, if you’re not moving forward, you are going backwards!

    Its really important to invest in yourself and others to enable you to become the best version of yourself possible and to provide the business with the very best assets for the future!

    You will be amazed what you are capable of, with a little investment from others combined with some encouragement and curiosity combined with hard work you will find that the formula for success is not in actual fact rocket science!

    • Over the years I have been fortunate enough to of had some great support from individuals and Mentors who had more belief in my abilities and potential that I ever had in myself. It’s a great feeling to pass this good fortune on to others!

    • This industry has truly given me some amazing opportunities and experiences and I want people to be aware of just what a fantastic environment logistic is and encourage talent into our sector!

    • This region near the Airport is crucial to enabling business up and down the country to expand their available markets and not only grow with access to global trade but to become more resilient to challenges in local market conditions. Heathrow is a significant enabler to the wider economy and global trade that is great for consumers, by encouraging competition driving up quality and reducing prices as business compete for their custom and of course business benefits from the increased sales. The benefits of Logistics in this area has a really enabling effect on the wider economy.

    Current Position and Organisation:

    Professional Background/Experience:
    Entrepreneur with a 35-year experience in designing and running software systems for Transport Management, Freight Forwarding, Warehousing and Screening.

     High energy, positive minded professional who over the years has been heavily involved in the evolution of ICT in Healthcare and Insurance.

    Why Learning and Skills are important to you?
    We can bring our experience in logistics and supply chain software systems to help students develop the necessary skills set for operative and management employment roles in the industry.

    We can train students in software processes of Transport and Warehousing systems by means of workshops and other learning tools.

    We can encourage industry employers of Heathrow and surrounding UK Airports to offer students internships and practical work experience in freight forwarding.

    • Contribute to the WTC Logistics course syllabus by educating students on the use of software in transport management and warehousing.
